Sentinel

Interactive network graph analytics for self-guided relational mapping. Part of the SEAM diagnostic toolkit.

Before you enter

Sentinel is a research and educational tool developed under the Social Echoes Awareness Method (SEAM) framework. Its visualisations, metrics, and analyses are educational and exploratory, intended for self-reflection rather than clinical or therapeutic use.

All graph metrics are computed from data you input. They reflect your subjective assessments processed through standard network science models, not objective measurement of any relationship or individual. Outputs should be treated as one analytical perspective, never as a definitive assessment.

This tool does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. If you are experiencing emotional distress, please consult a qualified professional.

Sentinel is in active development. The software may contain errors, calculations are provided for illustration only and their accuracy is not guaranteed, and features may change. You use this tool entirely at your own risk and are responsible for any decisions you make based on what it shows.

All network data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Nothing is transmitted to any server. The Institute has no access to your entries. Clearing browser data will permanently delete your network, so manual exports are recommended for anything you want to preserve. You are also responsible for the privacy and dignity of any individuals you choose to map.

How to Use Sentinel NET
Getting Started
1. Set up your center node using the "Me" panel. This represents you as the ego in an ego-centric network.
2. Add people. When a center node exists, a connection from you to each new person is created automatically. Edge properties (strength, type, structural pattern) are derived from what you enter.
3. Use "Connect Others" to link two people who know each other. Their structural pattern is derived from both endpoints' dimension profiles.
Five Structural Dimensions
Each dimension is a structural assessment of the relationship, not an emotional label. You are describing what the relationship does, not how it feels.
EmpowermentHow much energy does this relationship generate or consume?
GrowthDoes this relationship produce change or maintain stasis?
FreedomHow much autonomy does this relationship permit?
SupportHow much load-bearing capacity does this bond have?
CommitmentHow reliable is this connection's structural integrity?
